Introduction

Microsoft Windows Vista

All new computers are now sold with the Vista operating system. This version of Windows has a new visual interface and improved security, but works in a very similar way to Windows XP.

Applications (e.g. MS Word, Picasa, Wordpad, etc.) work exactly the same in both Windows XP and Vista. So, although many of our classes, such as Word Processing or Digital Photography use Windows XP, this will not effect your learning experience.

For our beginning classes that focus more on the basic use of a computer, we now offer classes in both Vista and Windows XP.

We believe in "learning by doing" in our specially paced, supportive classroom environment. Each student will have his/her own computer and a manual or textbook. The all-volunteer training team consists of an instructor who leads the course and several coaches who work with the students to ensure that they successfully complete each lesson. A display projector is connected to one of the computers which enables all students to easily follow instruction. The methods used to train have been time-tested and are highly praised by our former students. The GCCLC staff will try to accommodate the special needs of any student. So, why not join us for a fun and interesting experience.

All classes are 2 hour duration with a 10 minute coffee break. Don't forget to view the Student Information where you can see our classroom procedures, parking, etc. and check the Student Prerequisites to be able to get maximum benefit from our classes.

Below are descriptions for each of our classes. Along with the description, is a link to the Table of Contents for that class (if available), as well as links the current class schedule and our monthly calendar. Click on a link below to view the details for that class.
